Apartment Review for Martin L Adams & Sons - Louisville, KY

During my year there, there were problems almost out of the box. First, I was told I didn't need a co-signer, then suddenly I did. The dishwasher was broken the day I moved in. Any neighbour I had that wasn't Bosnian was a total pain, making as much noise as they wanted and then making up stuff about my stereo, which, by the way, I do not even own. I had two Bosnian neighbours tho and they were friendly and cool. Parking is a joke, every weekend it seems here is the party place. I work 3rd shift, and I come home often to find I have no where to park on weekends. During the ice storm I spent a day blocked in by some inconsiderate jerk and almost missed work. I couldn't find an owner surprise surprise. The office staff, with the exception of then main manager, was acceptable. If you own a hookah, don't expect to be asked in a civil manner whether you use it legally or not, just expect a letter threatening to kick you out for having "drug paraphernalia." I only put tobacco in mine, but it took me getting a lawyer to get them to back off. Yes, it took a lawyer. These people need cultural sensitivity classes. The rent is cheap for the space you get that's true, but there are a lot of unpleasant negatives that come with living there. It just feels like some tenants are mollycoddled, whilst others are singled out for mistreatment right away. Don't expect to just come home and be left alone, and if you have any cultural things that might appear suspect to western eyes, expect to be guilty until proven innocent. I swear on my honour what I am telling is the truth, so you have been warned.
