Apartment Review for Parliament Square Apartments - Louisville, KY

I lived here between March 2005 and October 2006. It was torture! There was mold growing in the hallway. the faucet broke in the bath tub, and when maintenance came to replace it, they left me a mess to clean up. There was a roach problem a few months after we moved in that they kept saying they were going to fix, which never was accomplished. The maintenance men kept coming to the apartment to squirt roach killer in the kitchen and bathroom. It was messy and you could see it everywhere. I have kids, and roach killer is poison after all. They told us that they would put new carpet in the apartment before we moved in, and they never did. I don't smoke and I had to live with cigarette burns in my carpet, along with a burn that looked like an iron sat there for a minute. The central air felt like it didn't work in the summer time. The winter time was cold and drafty, because there were gaps in the windows that let air in. There was a fight almost every week in the parking lot. People were constantly fighting, and yelling at all hours of the night. There were men who sometimes came into the apartments stairwell in the hallway who drank alcohol almost all night long. Someone tried to break into our apartment, because the door was gauged up right along the jamb. I am a female. I did not feel safe. There were people smoking pot in the parking lot, and I think in my building, because you could smell it in the hallways. I had to call the police on 3 seperate occassions because of riff-raff in the parking lot fighting. The owner is an attorney who is quite a piece of art. We broke our lease earlier, and had one month to pay. We told the office that we would have it paid in full in a few months, or we could do payments, and for them to call us back and let us know what they wanted us to do. We were never contacted, except from the owner with a paper with a court date. We called him to find out what the deal was. He wanted us to pay him what we owed him, along with court costs, or fees. I couldn't believe him. We were trying to pay them, we made a good effort to try and contact them and come up with options on paying our debt, and he did that and on top of it all wanted us to pay him court fees, because he's an attorney, and felt all high and mighty by bringing the court into it all. It was ridiculous. If anyone should have sent anyone to court it should have been us sending him there, because of the health risks from the moldy hallways we made mention of, that they never fixed. All they did was cover it up with paint!! Everyone is too good for this place, Trust me, DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO LIVE IN A GHETTO LIKE ENVIROMENT, AND BE WOKE UP AT 4 AM TO SOME CRAZY DRUNK SCREAMING IN THE PARKING LOT!!!!!
