Apartment Review for Stonemill Village - Louisville, KY

We love living at Stonemill Village. For the amount of rent we pay, we feel like we get a lot of apartment. We also enjoy the pools, hot tub, tanning bed, and work-out facility. I love that each apartment gets their own carport space, and there is typically enough open parking. We did have an issue with someone cleaning the gutters right onto our balcony, and when I submitted a fair complaint online, I never heard from anyone. I manage a complex as well, and know that it can be hard to answer to complaints, but I still would have appreciated an apology or an explanation. When we got a satellite dish, we were well aware that the lease said something about satellite dishes not being in common areas. Along the tree line near our building, there were 4-5 dishes already in place, and so we assumed that that area was not considered a common area. We went ahead and placed our dish and enjoyed having it for 11 months. All of a sudden, we got a letter stating the vague rules regarding Dishes, and when we got back from vacation a few weeks later, our dish was gone. We attempted to reason with the complex and work out a solution that would be good for everyone, but they were unwilling to talk to us and work it out. We really didn't appreciate the way things were handled, and felt that if a rule was going to be in place, it needed to be enforced from the get go, and not 11 months into someones 18 month contract. (We ended up paying a $93.31 cancellation fee.) We dropped the issue and went with Digital Cable, but feel that we could have probably pushed the issue further. It just wasn't worth it to us. Other than those issues, we are still very happy with our time at Stonemill. The location is unbeatable, 3 minutes from Kroger, 3 minutes from the malls, and pretty close to anything else. I have and will recommend it to friends. They just revamped a park within walking distance, and we just love going on walks and jogging in the park. You are welcome to Email me if have any questions!
