Apartment Review for Westport Woods - Louisville, KY

This place has really taken a turn for the worse since I have moved in. I've never had a problem with management, they are always polite when you talk to them over the phone. They have this resident manager who they want you to contact if there is a problem and he sucks! When I call with a maintenance issue, it's RARE that you actually get to speak to him.Oh, he'll come by AFTER the fact. After I have called the manager and told her my problem and had it FIXED. The maintenance people are pathetic. If they would just fix things right the FIRST time, they wouldn't have to keep coming out.There have been countless leaks, and flooding. I have actually had tape put on one of the hoses to the A/C unit in my apartment when that was leaking. Needless to say, it continues to leak. Although, management is quick to send someone out to fix it, like I said they NEVER fix it right. So some things I just try and fix myself. There really isn't a lot of crime in this area. Though I have had my car keyed since I have lived there. It really doesn't help to live right next to a bar either. When I first moved out there, parking was great! I ALWAYS got the parking I wanted but now if you don't get there by seven. You have to park around the side of the building. Though it's not a LONG walk. It's kind of dark by there because there's no real lighting. This apartment complex contains only one building but upkeep is crap! It wasn't always this way. They DO keep the grass cut. But the fools that live around there keep trash all over the yard. The dumpster quickly fills up because you have people from some of the HOUSES around there dump there trash in that dumpster to. I had few complaints about the condition on the apartment after I moved in. Everything was freshly painted and in working order, new carpet. The apartment smelled heavily of Cigarettes. It took me about 2 years and lots of headaches to get that smell out of that apartment! Everytime I went out I ALWAYS smelled like an ashtray. It used to be really quiet around there. You could hear a pin drop. But then when they just started letting ANYBODY in, the noise level is through the roof. At all hours of ALL hours of the night you hear really loud music necause of inconsiderate neighbors. Most of the people that were here when I moved in have since moved out because of all that noise. And there have been 3 fires there because of CARELESS residents. Another gripe I have is, the management will send out these notices saying that someone will be out to spray and change furnace filters and the NEVER show up. And IF they decide to it's usually a couple of weeks later and they ALWAYS lave the filter by the apartment door. One good thing is that since I lived there the rent was only raised once and that was only by a few bucks! Still I had to leave....
